Management Analysis
This paper aims to contemplate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of an
organization and a leader within this organization. This type of analysis helps determine an
organization’s assets, detects where they can improve, how they can improve, and other possible
issues they might have to look out for in the future. The leaders of the organization use this
assessment to improve themselves continuously and the operations of the organization.

The Organization
The Utah Aircraft Engineering Organization (UAEO) “provides war-winning
expeditionary capabilities to the warfighter through world-class logistics, support, maintenance,
distribution and engineering management for actively flying, mature and proven weapon
systems. It is one of three complexes assigned to the Air Force Sustainment Center.” (HAFB,
2016)
History and Background
In 1934 Utah and military leaders concluded that Utah was a good area for a permanent
air depot. In 1935 Congress approved the plans, and in 1940, the first construction began. On 7
November 1940, Colonel Brosnan, the first commanding officer, began his four-year duty tour,
marking the logistics and maintenance unit’s formal activation. UAEO snowballed to its full
strength during World War II while providing vital repairs and support for various wartime
missions.
After the war, though, the workload and employee numbers declined rapidly. In 1950
unrest in eastern Asia brought back the numbers, and UAEO grew once more. Since then, the
