Teen Pregnancy Executive Summary My SDOH Access to Healthcare Service relates to “Teen Pregnancy”. The access to healthcare services, education, the use of contraceptives to decrease teenage pregnancy. Teenage pregnancy has a high mortality and morbidity. Teenage girls 15 to 19 years of age are twice as likely to die during pregnancy or childbirth compared to older women. (Meade & Ickovics, 2005). Adolescents in some countries receive unsafe abortions. Teen pregnancy also contributes to low birth weights. Infants born to teen mothers have a higher mortality rate. These are a few of the reasons we need policy makers to push for early education of contraceptives, this according to (County health ratings, 2017-a). Summary of How the Proposed Policy will Address the SDOH in My Community My SDOH Access to Healthcare Service. My goal is to see the pregnancy rate in 16- year-old teens in lee county drop at least 10% in 6 months. I believe this is measurable through the Lee County Health Department. This can be achievable if early intervention is done. This is a relevant goal as it affects the community with many unwanted pregnancies. The time frame for my smart goal would be 6 months with assessment check at 3 months
