Stress Management Training Plan
More employees go through a lot of stress in the workplace. They could be coping with
rapid changes in the workplace, long working hours, or too much pressure. However, stress
management training can help employees know the source of their stress, how they can reduce it,
or provide them with the strategies, techniques, and tools they can use to keep stress in check.
Topics to be covered
The proposed stress management training will address the following topics:
i) Understanding stress: underlying stress mechanisms, the relationship between
stress and health, and how employees think about stress.
ii) Understanding pressure: the relationship between pressure and stress, how
pressure affects employee performance, differences between pressure and stress,
how employees can put pressure on themselves, how pressure affects our brains
and thinking
iii) Fighting stress: determining sources of stress, managing sources of stress,
assessing long-term stress, and improving working style.
iv) Making decisions under stress/pressure: self-doubt and self-belief, peer and
personal pressure, and decision-making pressures.

Methods for Tracking Training Attendance
Tracking employee training helps determine things such as how many employees were
trained, whether the training program was a success, and whether all employees received
mandatory training. The following are methods that to track employee training:
3
i) Automated tracking systems: allows for rapid and real-time recording of
mandatory training attendance data.
ii) Web-based systems help employers monitor, collect, store and display attendance
data; collected data can be stored on the cloud.
(IceHRM, n.d.)
In some cases, employees may fail to attend training due to several reasons. The best way
to deal with such employees is to determine their reasons for non-attendance and then work on
removing those barriers. Generally, the following methods can be used to increase the chances of
such employees attending training in the future:
i) Give them a reason to attend – explain to the employees the benefits of attending
training. Use incentives that will culminate in long-term growth.
ii) Make training sessions valuable – such as through personalizing content to
making training sessions more engaging.
iii) Create excitement/ make training sessions more fun – this can be done by
designing the training program to be more interactive.
iv) Make training sessions flexible – give employees the option of deciding when
they can attend training; make everybody feel recognized and appreciated.
