Hemodynamic monitoring: Answer the use of pressure monitoring devices to directly measure cardiovascular function Location: Phlebostatic axis (4th intercostal space, mid-axillary) 4. Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP): Answer pressure forcing blood into tissues, averaged over cardiac cycle [(2xD)+S]/3 5. AllenTest Procedure: Answer 1. Rest hand palm up 2. Make a fist 3. Occlude radial/ulnar arteries with thumb 4. Fist released-pale at first 5. Release ulnar artery-Color should return; then release radial artery. Color returns in 7- 10 seconds (positive)
