Covid-19 has changed the world as we know it. This pandemic has raised fear,
anxiety, emotional distress and pain in everyone, especially those who are directly
impacted by it. In the Nursing home setting, staff work hard to minimize the negative
effects brought forth by Covid-19. Patient comfort and satisfaction are the most
important duties of the staff caring for them. This can be extremely hard to achieve when
dealing with so much unknown. Staff spend their days building relationships and trust
with their patients to meet their needs. The greatest fear present is the fear of oneself or a
loved one perishing as a
result of Covid-19. In addition to this, the patients experience a great deal of loneliness
due to Covid-19 and the restrictions it has caused. The staff are the only human contact
that the patients are provided with more often than not. This makes every interaction that
much more valuable to the patient.

The Impact that Covid-19 has had on the Organization is similar to the impact it
has had on the patients. Increased fear, anxiety, stress and the overall unknown is notably
present. Covid-19 has also had a significant impact on the overall finances of the
organization. Covid-19 testing, and supplies has increased the budget substantially. In
addition to this, the number of patients admitting to the nursing home for short-stay or
therapies has declined. More patients are choosing to go home with loved ones due to fear
of being exposed in the Nursing Home. With cost of operating increasing and profits
