Picketing lines, catchy sayings, and strikes are all components of a labor union in the
thick of a union election or a labor dispute. The motto “Yes we can” was the slogan used during
former President Barack Obama’s start of a lucrative senate career and was later used as the

the United Farm Workers labor union [ CITATION Jac15 \l 1033 ]. Labor unions, their sayings
and diplomacies have undoubtedly shaped the employment & political landscape.

productivity and the efficiency of the business.

the collective interests of employees. Labor unions help workers unite to negotiate with
employers over wages, hours, benefits, and other working conditions. They are often industryspecific and tend to be more common in manufacturing, mining, construction, transportation, and
the public sector” [ CITATION Wil19 \l 1033 ]. Although many American workers are in favor
of unions, union membership is declining. According to the United States Bureau of Labor
