1. Hyperventilation: Answer rapid respirations, sighing breaths, numbness and tingling ofhands/feet, lightheadedness, and loss of consciousness 2. Hypoventilation: Answer mental status changes, dysrhythmias, and potential cardiacarrest. If untreated, the patient's status rapidly declines, leading to convulsions, unconsciousness, and death 3. Hypoxemia: Answer deficient amount of oxygen in the blood. The clinicalsigns and symptoms of this include apprehension, restlessness (often an early sign), inability to concentrate, decreased level of consciousness, dizziness, and behavioral changes.
