Overview Today, new challenges have emerged in the field of education, presenting students and teachers with greater opportunities and higher demands. Globalization, new forms of communication technology, changing demographics in the population, and changing values and attitudes among the generations all contribute to the need to adapt education to new realities. Clearly, both society and schools are in transition. Chapter 1 discusses these changes and their impact on schooling and provides a brief overview of how the text will talk about these issues.
